Within the framework of the visit to Turkey, a meeting was held in SOCAR Türkiye with the delegation led by Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SOCAR.
At the meeting, the work done by SOCAR Türkiye in 2021, the upcoming issues for 2022 and the steps taken towards the implementation of the goals were presented, as well as discussions were held regarding SOCAR's projects in Turkey and their prospects.
Chairman of the Supervisory Board Mikayil Jabbarov spoke about the importance of STAR Refinery, a subsidiary of SOCAR Türkiye, being included in the "Global Lighthouse" network which unites leading production enterprises of the World Economic Forum and being the first oil refinery in the world to receive this award.
Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized that SOCAR has made an important contribution to the development of brother Türkiye's economy and noted that it is a great success that SOCAR Türkiye was awarded the 8th place in the "2021 export champions" nomination of the Turkish Exporters' Assembly.
Rovshan Najaf, the First Vice-president of SOCAR, Acting President of SOCAR, who also took part in the meeting, said that SOCAR always pays attention to the current challenges in the world and prefers the application of clean and digital energy technologies in its enterprises.
Speaking about SOCAR's strategic initiatives such as energy transition, digitalization, and innovation, Rovshan Najaf emphasized that the successes achieved by SOCAR Türkiye in the field of digitalization are the main component of this strategy.
Then the delegation visited the museum about the oil history of Azerbaijan in the office of SOCAR Türkiye.
